Born on May 20, 1922 in Drohobych, Western Ukraine (then Poland). Mothers surname ‘Kovaliv', comes from a village Medvezha. Father - a teacher of medicine in the Ukrainian Underground University. Studied at Drohobych gymnasium. Sang in the choir of St.Trinity church. Studied in Medical Institute since 1943 till 1949. In 1950 was arrested by KGB at the station Krasne. Was jailed in the prisons of Lviv. Since 1950 till 1958 in the exile to the forests of Siberia. Gynecologist. Lives in Lviv, Ukraine.
