The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

Eirini Kupková se narodila v Brně. Její rodiče uprchli z Řecka během občanské války. Na útěku se rodina rozdělila a čtyři z dětí se vrátily s babičkou zpět do Řecka a rodina se s nimi shledala až v 70. letech. Paní Kupková vyrůstala v Československu s rodiči a dvěma sourozenci. Oba sourozenci i maminka se vrátili zpět do Řecka. Paní Kupková vystudovala práva, provdala se za Čecha a žije v Pustiměři. Do Řecka jezdí pravidelně, i když nikdy neuvažovala, že by se tam přestěhovala. Řecky hovořila s rodiči, dnes občas s dcerou, která vystudovala novořeckou filologii.
