Mikuláš Lenoch was born on January 20, 1925 in Volkov in Volhynia in what was then Poland. He comes from the local community of Volhynian Czechs. In 1944 he enlisted in the 1st Czechoslovak Army Corps. During the advance of the army, he was wounded on September 21, 1944 and transported to a hospital in Lviv. After convalescence in the hospital he worked for an auxiliary company in Levoča. Following the war, he made his living on logging.
