Stories of the Czech-Austrian Borderland KPF-01-210

The Post Bellum organization, Memory of the Nation South Bohemia Branch, recorded stories that took place in the Czech-Austrian border region in the 20th century as part of the project Stories of the Czech-Austrian Borderland. Using the unique patented Eye Direct method, the personal stories of a total of 22 witnesses from the South Bohemian and Upper Austrian regions were recorded. The filming took place in both Czech and German, and was shot in South Bohemia and Upper Austria during the course of the project from spring 2020 to autumn 2021. The oldest memoirist was 99 years old in 2021. From the filmed testimonies a bilingual Czech-German video documentary Hranice/Grenze was prepared, which was part of an educational discussion with representatives from the Czech Republic and Austria. The discussion evening was broadcast online on 8 December 2021 and is available together with the video documentary on the YouTube channel, under the title Premiere of the film Hranice and discussion with historians.
