The following text is not a historical study. It is a retelling of the witness’s life story based on the memories recorded in the interview. The story was processed by external collaborators of the Memory of Nations. In some cases, the short biography draws on documents made available by the Security Forces Archives, State District Archives, National Archives, or other institutions. These are used merely to complement the witness’s testimony. The referenced pages of such files are saved in the Documents section.

The last witness to the execution of German soldiers
he was born on October 3, 1929 in Buková
since 1936 the family lived in Boskovice
at the end of the war he witnessed an air raid and the execution of German soldiers
in 1946 he completed his apprenticeship as a furniture carver
from 1951 to 1954 he served in the army at the Border Guard
he joined the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia
he became a member of the town council and worked in the housing commission
he started working in municipal services as a framer
in August 1968 he suffered severe injuries in a tour bus crash
he was expelled from the Communist Party during the normalization checks
he also lost his position in the local national committee
he visited his relatives in Vienna during normalization
