Ludmila Minaříková, née Stáňová, was born on 12 November 1935 in Prague as the first-born daughter of Vojtěch and Ludmila Stáňová. Her mother was the eldest daughter of Antonín Benjamin Svojsík, the founder of Czech scouting. The family spent most of the German occupation in the house of Julia Svojsíková in Lety outside Prague. After the Second World War she became a member of the Prague Junák club. After the communist takeover in 1948, her father Vojtěch Stáně had to leave the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to party pressure and ended up in a worker’s position. After passing her high school leaving exam, she went on to law school, graduating in 1961. She subsequently married and changed jobs several times in the following years. She worked in the finance department of the Local National Committee of Prague 7 or as a legal representative of the State Theatre Studio. In the 1980s she worked at the Exhibition Department, where she was involved in the management of mass construction. She later left her job and took a job at the Czechoslovak Centre for Construction and Architecture, where she specialised in copyright law. At the time of filming she was living in Prague (May 2023).
