"I have to say what I will never forget, when Jana Štěpánková reported to the people here that she had to close the glassworks, that there has to be an extinction. She was just forced by the situation, the war. Then she was saying goodbye to the people and ought to have cried. She did and Dudek (the director and her husband) wanted to film it again, he wanted to fix something there, maybe four times he wanted it on her again and she kept crying. Maybe four times he wanted to repeat shooting of the scene and she just kept crying. Never used any artificial stuff. He even said: ´Jana, dod you need anything to get those tears going? '"

"When there were horses and cows, then the pastures and meadows belonged to the Emperor. The men left here at two o'clock and it was hard work. They took a scythe and cut the meadow here. Their wives walked and dug it up. We as children were running around and we did what was needed again. The whole Tasice was always there.“
