Staff Sergeant (ret.) Josef Hřebík

* 1923

  • “When I came to Dukla, there were broken tanks everywhere. Around them were large plates, mines, over which the tank went past and its belts were torn in pieces. A little bit further I went to a deep mud and suddenly it broke and my co-driver was thrown out of the tank lying on the ground. I carried him in my arms and put him in a car driving him to the nearest village. His leg was hurt and could not return to fighting anymore.”
